The Celestron 52250 80mm Ultima Zoom Spotting Scope uses multi-layer anti-reflection coatings on the objective lens to help with light transmission and ensuring a brighter and sharper image than many other entry-level 60 mm spotters. It is designed to be rugged and waterproof and comes with a soft, padded carrying case.
For any photographers out there, it has a removable rubber eye-cup that exposes a standard T-thread for attaching a camera and a 45° angle to eyepiece makes it easier to use this scope with a shorter tripod whether you are taking pictures or simply viewing the scenery.
Since rifle scope prices are over $25 you can get it shipped right to your front door for free with Amazon’s super saver shipping program. This will save you money and also a trip to the store.

One reviewer stated that this scope gave them the “wow factor” that they had only seen in high end scopes. The scope has good optics, especially for the price. At 20X magnification the image is sharp, clear, and why. As you get closer to 60X magnification image quality and color deteriorate somewhat. Many of the reviewers agree that for the price, the Celestron 52250 is an exceptional scope.
This scopes rugged yet lightweight construction is ideal for people taking it out into the woods for wildlife viewing or bird-watching. One reviewer says that focus and zoom are easy to adjust while another says that it’s a bit awkward and takes a little getting used to.
There was one negative review that we found that said after using the scope for a little over a year something happened to the prism and they can no longer see through the scope. This person referred to scope as junk but that is probably a little harsh considering all of the positive reviews from other people that have purchased it. Another reviewer states that there is a slight amount of chromatic aberration and edge softness but at this price range that is to be expected.
Overall the reviews for the Celestron 52250 80mm Ultima Zoom Spotting Scope are quite good and the purchase price is hard to beat. The fact that a camera can be attached to a spotting scope of this price range is a nice added benefit as well.
