Kendrick Dew Removal System

   The Kendrick Dew Remover System was developed to meet the need in the astronomical community for an effective dew removal and prevention system. This system has heaters for almost all the optical components used in amateur astronomy. Repeated field testing on many types and optical surfaces under many conditions and hundreds of satisfied customers has proven the effectiveness of this product over and over. It also has these other attractive features: it is energy efficient (variable settings on the controller allow maximum conservation of battery power), it has an adjustable heat range to prevent tube currents or seeing degradation, it is lightweight, it is high quality, it is capable of keeping every optical surface you are using during an observing or astrophotography session free of moisture all night long, and it is guaranteed to work.

Please Note: You need the controller to operate any of the Kendrick heaters.

Astrozap Star Field Dew Shields

   Dew prevention shields with style! Introducing the ultimate flexible dew shield made of lightweight durable ABS plastic that won't chip or crack. The interior is felt lined to help absorb moisture and to prevent extraneous light from reaching the optics. Sewn Velcro strips are present for quick wrap around placement onto the corrector plate rim. A two-inch rubber trim also wraps around the OTA to prevent any slippage. Lays flat or rolls up for easy storage.

Astrozap Metal Dew Shields

Astrozap Flexi-Heat Dew Shields

   Until now, standard unheated dew shields could only prolong the onset of dew formation. Depending on your geographic location, a simple dew shield may be all that is required. (Dew shields are also great for blocking stray light from reaching your optics.) However, in moist climates, dew can still creep up on you within a short period and your viewing session is over. Why not add some heat? Astrozap's Flexi-Heat Dew Shields direct the heat right to your optical tube assembly, thus eliminating any chance of dew formation. Guaranteed!

   The source of heat is a thick film heater manufactured for operation at 12 volts. Sixty-six percent of the surface area is heat emitting - this means more even heat distribution and no localized hot spots or burnouts often associated with resistance wire heaters. Best of all, it won't create heat wave disturbances.

   The Flexi-Heat Dew Shields come with a six foot phono-plug cable and are compatible with both the Kendrick and Dew Buster controllers. The Astrozap Flexi-Heat Dew Shields are made from durable yet light weight ABS plastic and lined with black felt to help increase contrast. A 2" sewn neoprene rubber "Mega Grip" material wraps snugly around the telescope optical tube assembly, keeping the dew shield in place, and eliminating any chance of dew formation!

Meade ETX Dew Shields

   These Dew Shields thread onto the front lens cell and effectively inhibit the formation of dew on the lens surface.

ScopeTronix Dew Clip

   If you have long observing sessions or live in a heavy dew area you need active dew prevention. The Dew Clip is a corrector plate heater designed especially for small Schmidt-Cassegrain and Maksutov telescopes. To install simply grasp it by the 2 small handles at the bottom, slightly spread the clip and slip it over the front of the telescope optical tube. The felt lined dew clip fits snugly without scratching the optical tube. Insert the auto cigarette lighter type plug into a 12 volt power source. A red LED on the Dew Clip indicates it is on and working. Designed to supply just enough heat to keep the corrector above the dew point and not so much that it causes tube currents. Use with a Dew/Glare shield for absolute maximum protection from dew and stray light! The NexStar 8 model has a cutout for clearance of the support bar on the left side of the OTA. The other 8" Dew Clip fits all other Meade & Celestron 8" SCTs and Meade 7" Maks. Current draw is a little over 1 amp for the 8" version which is a nice balance between low power and adequate dew protection.
