JMB "Identiview" Solar Filters

   JMB Identiview filters are high quality glass filters. We carry only the Class "A" filters which are coated with a highly scratch resistant layer of steel. They are a little less expensive, they also include a cleaning cloth. They are also guaranteed for as long as you own them. With these filters the Sun is presented in a pleasing natural color. We have carried these filters for some time now and I am very pleased with the quality, construction, and consistency of the coatings.

Astrozap Baader Solar Filters

   Made using the world famous Baader AstroSolar™ Material. With AstroSolar™ the Sun appears in it's real color - neutral white. Other films and most glass filters produce a blurry bluish or reddish Solar image, thereby cutting part of the spectrum. Especially with an orange sun, it is very hard to see faculae regions which are visible predominantly in the blue wing of the spectrum. Due to it's neutral color balance, AstroSolar enables the use of various color (or interference) filters which allows the observer to concentrate on certain spectral passbands for investigations of different layers within the solar "atmosphere." Filter cell constructed from lightweight 18Ga aluminum and powder coated white. Heavy duty threaded inserts and nylon thumbscrews insure a secure fit.
